Levin Ginsburg provides a warm, professional environment where professionals and staff advance their careers while enjoying the workplace. Our team members share their LG experiences:
Jonathan Weis, Partner: I completed law school in 1996 and began my career at Levin Ginsburg. I have been here ever since. First and foremost, I really enjoy the people here. We are very collegial and team-oriented. For me, the firm is a great fit because it provides a unique business environment with a balance of very large litigation and transactional matters along with a strong entrepreneurial base of work for family owned businesses, mid-market companies, and individuals. In all of this, we focus on developing close, long-term relationships with our clients in order to provide the highest quality work in cost effective/value added fashion.
Katherine Grosh, Partner: After practicing law at another firm for nearly 15 years, it was not easy to make a lateral move. However, from the initial meeting through the hiring process, and throughout our first year at Levin Ginsburg, I could not be more pleased with the transition. From my fellow partners to the associates to the staff, the professionals at Levin Ginsburg are what make this firm great. The focus of the lawyers and staff is on client service and the quality of the work product we generate. The firm has consistently supported my efforts to generate business and expand my business litigation and appellate practice. At Levin Ginsburg, I have found a group of colleagues who are incredibly intelligent, knowledgeable, and profoundly committed to this profession, yet the firm culture as a whole has a healthy work-life balance at its core.
Karen Pflanzer, Corporate Paralegal: I’ve been with Levin Ginsburg since 1990 and can honestly say that I enjoy the people I work with. The atmosphere here is professional yet we also have a lot of fun. The partners encourage our personal development and if you show any interest, they will serve as mentors. There is an open-door policy that encourages communication and brings team spirit to life. These reasons and plenty more are why I have been here so long.
Karen D. Hammersmith, CLM, SPHR Legal Administrator: We believe in what we do. It is our passion. This shows in everything we do from the way we answer our phones to the consistency and excellence of our work product. As a firm, our mission is to provide the highest level of client service. To that end, we work together to protect the best interests of our clients. Our people are deeply committed to that philosophy, to our clients, and to each other.
Our clients and our counterparts tell us that our lawyers are our greatest asset. We understand the business realities clients face as well as their legal implications and we work with our clients as a legal advisor and business consultant. When looking to add professionals to our firm, we focus on a combination of skill, experience, and character. Continuous ongoing training is critical to the success and development of each Levin Ginsburg attorney. We assign a senior attorney to mentor each LG attorney. This allows associates to learn hands-on while under the tutelage of an experienced member of the firm, thus affording less experienced lawyers the opportunity to appear in court, draft sophisticated documents, participate in depositions, and communicate with clients. Associates are given prompt feedback directly from the attorneys with whom they work. In addition, we schedule at least one formal performance evaluation each year. By joining our firm, you become a member of the team. We derive satisfaction from each employee’s efforts and accomplishments. Levin Ginsburg encourages attorneys to join bar association groups, business associations, and to attend continuing legal education seminars. Within the firm, we analyze interesting and new developments in the law at regularly scheduled meetings, which sometimes are practice group focused. Regular marketing meetings are held as well.
Our clients rely on each and every Levin Ginsburg team member. Adding valuable personnel to our team of legal secretaries, paralegals, and office staff is paramount. We care about our employees and their families and support them with comprehensive employee benefits, including major medical health insurance, 401(k) plan contributions, and profit sharing. As an employee of the firm, you become a member of our family. Our team members are respected, treated fairly, listened to, and involved. Friendly relationships, balanced personal lives and a non-threatening and stress-reduced environment make working at Levin Ginsburg enjoyable and productive.
